WHO WE ARE

Chanelle Kukona, Wedding Consultant
Phone: 808.781.2684
Email: chanelle@afphawaii.com

The following was taken from Midweek Metro By Joji Yoshida:

Chanelle Kanani Kukona, now doesn't that name sound harmonious. Her ethnic blend of English, Filipino, Hawaiian, Irish, Korean and Portuguese makes up this talented actress. She graduated from Mililani H.S. Something must be in the water there because quite a number of talented actress' came out of that school. She also graduated from Chaminade University with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. I had the pleasure of meeting her through a mutual friend, Chanell Akamine/Hawaii 5-0. Now this Chanell is a 'male' local actor by the way. I have to give him credit for discovering her. More on the 'other' Chanell later.

You can catch her on the telly, Live at the Hana Hou on KIKU-TV on Friday nights at 10:00p.m. She's hosting the variety show featuring local talent and bands. She is featured in the upcoming film 'Peachmaker' by Director Yuki Otsuka and produced by Hideki Hishino which is a sequel to the 2002 Hawaii International Film Festival selection 'Peach'. Her recent Film & TV credits include, Bank of Hawaii CM, Cinnamon Girl, Gotcha Backdoor, Hawaii Xtreme Sports and Sephora. Also a spokesperson for the Japanese beverage S-Cup.

Her immediate goal is participating in the Miss VIP Pageant to be held at Mamiya Theatre on Saturday, 29th of November 2003. The event is a preliminary to qualify for the upcoming Miss Hawaii Pageant. Her platform will be on the 'Building Blocks of Health and Wellness'. Chanelle's fitness regimen consists of Chi Gung, Tai Chi and Yoga. She mentioned her favorite eats as sushi because it's low in fat and high in protein. Makes sense. Chanelle is not only beautiful but has the smarts to go along with it. She graduated with honors from Chaminade University in 2002 with a BA degree in Communications. She's currently enrolled in Hawaii College of Health Sciences to earn her massage therapist license. She works as a Native Cultural Practitioner also known as Hawaiian Lomilomi at The Lomi Shop Va'a, Hyatt Regency Waikiki.

She named a few actors like Jennifer Aniston, Julia Roberts, Catherine Zeta-Jones, George Clooney, Tom Cruise and Matt Damon as faves. Movies are Dirty Dancing and My Best Friends Wedding. Chanelle's aspiration is to host and produce her own health and wellness TV show locally. In my eyes she's what I call a triple threat in showbiz. A talent who can act, dance and sing equally well.

AFP update: Chanelle won the Miss VIP title and will be competing in Miss Hawaii 2004.

The oldest of 5 brothers, Vincent Kealaokalani Lucero grew up in the oceans of West O’ahu. He attended the Kamehameha Schools, where he was chosen to co-produce a documentary at the 6th Festival of Pacific Arts in the Cook Islands. Entitled "Celebrating the Pacific," the video went on to win numerous awards at film festivals locally and on the Mainland.

After graduating from Loyola Marymount University in ’97, he joined Swank Audio Visuals at the Renaissance LAX Hotel. At 23, he became the company’s youngest Manager at the Four Seasons Newport Beach and later the Ritz Carlton Kapalua.

A talented actor as well, Lucero played principal roles in commercials for Central Pacific Bank, Hilo Hatties, Malama Aina, Ohana Hotels and Panasonic. He is also playing Joe Kahahawai in Kumu Kahua’s rendition of the Kahahawai/Massie Case. His passion however, remains filmmaking. Scott Mason, Editor/Visual Alchemist
Phone: 850.212.7281
Email: support@afphawaii.com

An aspiring filmmaker from birth, Scott played around with music videos, Claymation, Lego animation, and other video filmmaking endeavors as a child. He went to Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida, to hone his craft as a writer. While on a hiatus from school, he was recruited by PBS where he learned to operate a variety of studio equipment. He quickly became a person to rely on to solve technical problems. PBS allowed him to continue his school around his work schedule.

As Scott was graduating from college, a 24-hour news organization was starting up in Tallahassee. They recruited him to be a news editor and promotions producer. While making commercials for Florida’s News Channel, he was lured away to the most reputable post-house in the city. At Mike Vasilinda Productions, he became their lead graphic artist, creating numerous 3D worlds for corporate videos and winning awards for editing. Scott authored DVDs, websites, created print advertising, and became a master of multi-media.

He eventually had to move on from the television industry to make his mark in the film making community. He moved to Los Angeles and shot an entire film on High Definition for the same crew that produced NYPD Blue. That led to transferring dailies for the ABC pilot “The Threat Matrix.” He designed the preliminary graphics. And, before he moved back to Hawaii where he graduated from Punahou High School, he completed “The Real Cancun.” For this film, he was the on-line editor and special effects artist.

Scott returned to his home in Kailua to assist the State of Hawaii in becoming a viable film producing community. His dreams have always been to build an industry in Hawaii that rivals Hollywood.
